Is BBL HERO a safe treatment for all skin types?

BBL HERO is a safe, non-invasive, and gentle procedure with minimal side effects for most skin types and tones. However, it is generally not recommended for people who are at the end of the Fitzpatrick scale as the treatment may target not only the unwanted excess melanin, but also your natural skin tone. We also do not recommend BBL for patients with melasma. For patients with darker skin tones and/or melasma, we recommend Moxi laser treatment instead is safe for all skin types, all year round

How long does it take to see the results from BBL HERO?

Most patients will see the results in 1-2 weeks following the treatment but it will take up to 1 month to see peak results

How is BBL HERO different from traditional BBL?

BBL HERO stands for Broadband Light High Energy Rapid Output. BBL HERO delivers 4x the speed, 3x the peak power, and 2x the cooling effect of traditional BBL which means faster, more effective, and more comfortable treatments

How many treatments do I need?

Number of treatments required depends on the skin condition and the desire results. While one session is beneficial, we typically recommend an initial series of 3 sessions (spaced out by 4-6 weeks) to reach optimal results and then quarterly maintenance thereafter

For patients who desire anti-aging benefits of BBL, we recommend quarterly treatments

How long do the results last?

Results will last up to 6-12 months after a series of initial treatments. Longevity can vary depending on patients' skin conditions and lifestyle

What is the difference between BBL and IPL?

While BBL and IPL both use non-invasive light waves to treat a variety of skin concerns, BBL is considered a more advanced version of the IPL. It targets imperfections deeper into the skin layer using high-intensity light waves. This advanced technology also allows for minimal pain, downtime, and side effects. BBL is also the only treatment that is clinically proven to alter the gene expressions to reverse the signs of aging. With consistent BBL treatments, patients can prevent, maintain, and reverse the aging process scientifically

What is the difference between BBL and Moxi?

In very broad terms, BBL treats tone while Moxi treats texture

BBL uses light waves to target pigmentation including sun spots, redness, and broken capillaries. It can also treat acne and improve overall skin quality

Moxi is a gentle laser that resurfaces the skin and provide rejuvenation without the excessive downtime of a fully ablative laser treatment. It is the only treatment can safely treat pigmentation for all skin types including the darker skin and patients with melasma. Moxi helps improve skin texture, appearance of pores, fine lines, and dark spots leaving your skin looking healthier and more vibrant

Our approach

Patient education and effective pre and post-care are essential for successful results. Each patient has unique skin and may be suitable for different treatments. This is why we always require a consultation before the treatments to discuss the patient’s skin concerns and whether they would be good candidates for the treatment.

Patients who are not suitable for the treatment will be notified during the consultation, and our practitioners will recommend alternative treatments. For suitable candidates, our licensed practitioner will schedule the treatment and carefully walk through all the important before and aftercare instructions.
