Is Sculptra safe?

Sculptra is an FDA-approved injectable and has been used globally used since 1999. Sculptra is made of a synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid that is absorbed naturally by the body. Similar to dermal fillers, most common side effects for Sculptra include injection site pain, redness, bruising, tenderness, itching and lumps, bleeding, and swelling. In some instances, patients have reported feeling small lumps underneath the skin when pressed. Our providers will always go through risks and concerns related to every treatment during the consultation to keep you informed

How many treatments will I need?

We typically recommend one vial per decade of life meaning someone in their 40's would need 4 vials of Sculptra to see optimal results. On average, patients would need 2 to 3 treatment sessions spaced out by 3 - 4 weeks based on your individualized treatment plan

When will I see the results?

Most patients begin to notice results in as little as one month but you will see peak results in 3-5 months

How long do the results last?

Clinical studies show that results can last up to 1 - 2 years. We typically recommend annual maintenance with smaller dosage after your initial sessions

What areas can you treat with Sculptra?

We typically treat cheeks, smile lines (nasolabial folds), marionette lines, and chin

Can I receive fillers after Sculptra?

Yes - Sculptra is slow-acing because it gradually stimulates collagen over several months. You can combine it with dermal fillers which give you immediate results. Treatment will require multiple sessions and a detailed treatment plan. Please discuss with our provider during your consultation

Personalized consultation with our experts

Our approach

Every patient appointment at U Med Spa begins with a full facial consultation by our licensed and trained service providers. Our practitioners tailor each treatment based on the customer’s skin type, texture, and skincare concerns. Type of product and the total amount that each customer needs will vary and will be determined based on the consultation.

We tend to perform conservatively during our first appointments with new patients to ensure natural results. Sometimes, this can mean that we would need follow-up appointments 2 weeks after the initial appointment to help patients achieve optimal results.
