If 2019 had you feeling overextended, overworked, and overstressed, here are my favorite tips for simplifying your life in the new year:
Make of a list of 3 things that you like to do the most. Simplifying will create more time for these things.
Declutter using Marie Kondo’s simple rule: if it doesn’t bring you joy, get rid of it.
An easy way to start decluttering is to put a box by your front door and every day, try to fill it with stuff that you don’t want.
Set limits on how often you check your phone, your email, and your social media accounts, and turn off as many notifications as you can.
Simplify your to-do list by deleting anything that’s been on your list for more than 6 months.
To reduce impulse buying, set a time once a week to do all of your shopping. For instance, you can keep an Amazon list on your phone and order after your weekly grocery shopping.
Buy clothes in just a few favorite colors to make coordinating outfits super easy.
Do one thing at a time to create more mental focus and clarity. Multi-tasking seems efficient but it only adds unnecessary stress.
Waking up 30 minutes earlier makes your morning feel less rushed and sets a slower and more peaceful pace for your entire day.
Instead of setting several goals, work on just one goal at a time.
Take time to receive the benefits of what you do. After a workout, take a moment to feel the benefits of the exercise. After finishing a project, take time to enjoy your accomplishment before moving on to the next thing.
I wish you a simply wonderful 2020!
