What causes fine lines and wrinkles?

Fine lines and wrinkles are a natural part of aging. Collagen and elastin are proteins in our skin that provide structure and elasticity. While fine lines and wrinkles may not be visible until our 30s, we begin to lose about 1.0% of collagen per year after the age of 20. Reduction in these proteins makes our skin less elastic, drier, and thinner, leading to sagging skin and the formation of wrinkles over time

Our approach

01  Prevention

We recommend wrinkle relaxers such as Botox / Dysport to prevent static wrinkles which are visible lines that don’t go away even when you are not making facial expressions. Because wrinkle relaxers limit the dynamics of your muscles from moving in a way that forms these deep wrinkles, they effectively can prevent those static wrinkles from forming while still allowing you to express yourself. This method is called “preventative Botox”

02  Preservation

We recommend getting a personalized skincare regimen with your medical aesthetician. Injectables are a great way to get instant results, but in order to maintain your results and get a healthy glow, you need to consistently take care of your skin, keeping it hydrated and clean from sun damage. Our medical aestheticians usually recommend a combination of microneedling and laser treatments to help reduce any fine lines and remove any sun damage which can age you faster

03  Restoration

We recommend fillers and biostimulators such as Sculptra. Dermal fillers instantly provide the volume to your skin giving you a more rejuvenated look. Fillers can be wonderful treatments for those with jowls, under-eye hollowness, and general volume loss. We can not only treat face, but also neck and hands which usually show signs of aging faster than our face. Sculptra is a great treatment to stimulate the collagen and elastin production in our skin, and restore what we have lost due to age. Sculptra takes 3-4 months to see results as it takes time for our skin to produce the collagen and elastin
