Do you struggle with pigmentation or dull skin?

Do you struggle with age spots, sun damage, freckles, redness, rosacea, acne, or dull skin? Book BBL Photofacial with us and say goodbye to all of the above!

BBL photofacial, also known as Broadband Light therapy, is the most advanced treatment in the industry today that uses light energy to treat hyperpigmentation (sunspots), redness, facial vessels, and loss of elasticity. It can also minimize acne and rosacea without the side effects of pharmaceuticals.

How does it work?

Do you know what the biggest enemy to healthy skin is? Sunlight! As much as we love a sunny day, the radiation of the sunlight causes our skin to age faster creating pigmentation, fine lines, and wrinkles. BBL works to remove the sun damage from our skin giving us brighter, healthier, and younger-looking skin.

According to a Stanford study, BBL treatments can reverse your gene expression to resemble younger skin. BBL is the only treatment today that is clinically proven to trick your genes to age backwards if received consistently!

Is BBL HERO different from traditional BBL or IPL?

At U Med Spa in Plano, TX, we offer BBL HERO, which is the most advanced technology today. It has 4x speed, 3x peak power, and 2x cooling as the original BBL device which means that you get a faster, less painful, and more effective treatment.

While BBL and IPL both use non-invasive light waves to treat a variety of skin concerns, BBL is considered a more advanced version of the IPL. It targets imperfections deeper into the skin layer using high-intensity light waves. This advanced technology also allows for minimal pain, downtime, and side effects.

Who are the ideal candidates for this treatment?

BBL Photofacial treatments are safe for most skin types (Fitzpatrick I – V), and we recommend them to almost all of our patients. Do you want to reduce sun damage and make your skin look healthier and younger? If your answer is a “yes”, then you are the right candidate.

And the best part yet?

  • BBL Photofacial treatments are quick and painless with little to no downtime (your skin will feel red and sensitive on the day of the treatment but you may apply your makeup
  • Treatments are safe for most skin types (Fitzpatrick I – V)
  • You will be able to treat not only your face, but also your body including neck, chest, and hands. Get ready for a smooth and rejuvenated skin from head to toe!

What should I expect after my treatment?

BBL Photofacial has very minimal downtime. Your skin may look pink and feel a little sunburned immediately after the treatment, but the redness should subside over the course of the day. Unlike other treatments, you will be also able to apply make-up to cover up the redness if you choose to.

If you are treating hyperpigmentation with BBL Photofacial, your spots may become darker temporarily for 1-2 weeks before they become lighter so don’t be too alarmed. Those spots should flake off over time leaving you with brighter skin. Let those flakes come off naturally, and be careful not to pick at them.

We recommend re-applying sunscreen every two hours, especially for BBL Photofacial treatments. We have just worked hard to remove the sun damage from our skin so let’s protect it from further damage! We also recommend you staying away from hot showers, saunas, and hot tubs for 48 hours after treatment.

How many treatments would I need?

While a single session is beneficial, we usually recommend at least 3 initial sessions spaced out by 4-6 weeks to achieve desired results. A great skincare regimen requires consistent care. After the initial sessions, we recommend treatments quarterly or semi-annually for maintenance.

What treatments can you combine with BBL Photofacial?

Botox / Dysport and BBL Photofacial are a perfect combination for preventative skincare. Botox and Dysport limit dynamic muscle movements (while still allowing you to express yourself) to prevent deep wrinkles from forming. BBL Photofacial removes sun damage from the upper layer of your skin to improve your skin quality and prevent your skin from aging. Add on BBL Photofacial to your next Botox or Dysport appointment!

We also recommend combining BBL photofacial and Moxi laser treatments. BBL helps improve skin tone while Moxi improves both tone and texture. They can be combined in a short 30-minute treatment and can give you a brighter complexion and smoother skin.
